Music took a back seat for a while as we planted more than usual last year. We only grow to feed our selves as a rule, but last year the winter garden got out of hand for us. We grew Kale, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Broccoflower, Cabbage, Beats, Garlic, lettuce, Lots of onions, that we let go to seed mostly (we'll be harvesting those soon). We typically process the whole plant, meaning we cook the leaves down, put them in a food processor and then can the "Sauce". We made about 50, 32 oz jars from winter 2024. We still have jars from 2023, what are we going to do with them?
WINTER 2024
Music took a back seat last year as the garden we grow expanded quite a bit. We typically only grow what we need to feed ourselves, but sometimes our eyes are bigger than our appetites. Last winter we grew Broccoli, Cabbage, cauliflower, Broccoflower, Lettuce, Beats, Kale, Garlic and lots of Onions! We let most of the onions go to seed , so many of them haven't been harvested. You'll see them in our summer pics. We process most of the whole plants, leaves and all. We cook them down, food processor and then can them. We made about 50 , 32 oz jars last year. We still have jars from 2023! What are we going to do with them?

Summer planting 2025
Like last Winter, we got a little carried away and planted more than we need. It's fun and serves as a back up if we have a bad year. Last Summer was terrible as we had prolonged heat, lots of gophers, ants and even locusts! So last winter we started planting in pots. We bury the pots to save water, but it is a lot of work. We will make a section, just on how we do it. In the meantime, here are photos of our summer plantings. Tomatoes, beans, peppers, cucumbers, cantaloupe. We also planted Garlic and Sweet potatoes from buds and slips.
